Bedroom
- Plug socket covers
- Lamps and wires out of reach
- Cot or Cot bed (located in a safe place within the room away from windows)
- Photo frames and ornaments out of reach from the Cot or Cot bed.
- Door stoppers
- Windows securely locked – keys in safe place
- Blind cords completely out of reach
- Smoke Alarm fitted and in working order
- Safety locks for all cupboards and drawers
Living Room
- Plug socket covers
- Lamps and wires out of reach
- Covers for sharp edges of coffee and side tables
- Photo frames, candles and ornaments out of reach
- TV/DVD unit – securely closed
- Door stoppers
- Windows securely locked – keys in safe place
- Fireguard placed around the fireplace edges
- Matches or firelighters always safely out of reach
- Blind cords completely out of reach
- Smoke Alarm fitted and in working order
Kitchen
- Safety locks for all cupboards and drawers
- Hot iron and kettle always out of reach
- All medicines in high cupboard
- Door stoppers
- Cleaning products securely locked away in cupboard
- Sharp Utensils – knives, scissors etc. kept out of child’s reach
- Kitchen Bin with secure lid
- Cooker and hob unit – safety covers/extra vigilance at all times
- Main cooker switches off when not in use
- When cooking – all saucepan handles should be facing inwards
- Appliances etc. turned off /plugged out when not in use
- Windows securely locked
- First Aid & Medicine Box fully equipped (to be kept in high cupboard)
