JOB DESCRIPTION
Professional Live-In / Live Out Nanny required for exciting position based in Paris, France caring for 3 children aged 8, 5 and 2 years old. The 5-year-old suffers from TSC, which causes epilepsy (under control with medication) and has mild autism. This position would be Monday to Friday (except Wednesday) from 3.15pm until 8.15pm, Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.15pm, Monday / Wednesday from 7.30am – 8.30am, Saturday from 6pm – 8pm and 1 babysitting per week. Start date is September 2023. This position is sole charge both parents work full time.
Nursery duties to include feeding, changing, bathing & following all children’s daily routine. Experience with this age group is essential.
The Nanny will be responsible for School collections for the children on the Friday. The 8-year-old is in School from 8.30am until 4.30pm, she has after school activities like theatre and arts. She is a little shy, she loves books, playing and dancing. She is almost bilingual, and the family want her to continue speaking 100% English with her Nanny.
The 5-year-old will be in school in the mornings until 5.30pm every day. The family are interested in a candidate that would have special needs experience and will continue doing home exercises that the speech therapist recommends (i.e., using pictograms to support his language development). The Nanny will also oversee that the 5-year-old will be taking his medicine at dinner time. The Candidate must be encouraging and patient, he loves books, airplanes, music, and songs for children.
The 2-year-old would be going to kindergarten on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The family are happy for the Nanny to go to playgroups such as the Music, Gym, Library, the Aquarium, the Zoo.
The family are happy for the Nanny to take the bus with the children, but not the metro. Driver is not essential but would be a bonus. The schools are within 7 – 10 minutes’ walk from the family home.
Good cooking skills are important to provide health & nutritious snacks and meals for the children.
The Family have a daily Housekeeper that comes in the morning.
The family can provide a flat that is around 100 square feet (17m2), which is 12 minutes’ walk from the family home. The flat has been renovated last year and has a bedroom, living room, kitchen all equipped. It is on a ground floor in a quiet courtyard.
The Candidate is required to travel with the parents or grandparents to Corsica, the Alps or in the countryside of France while the children are on school holidays (1 week in November, 1 week in February, 1 week after Christmas, 1 week in April and 1 week in July). Usually on a Wednesday afternoon, the grandparents come to spend time with the children.
The ideal Candidate must have a genuine interest in the children & become part of their family. The ideal Candidate must be kind, caring, independent, reliable, fun & energetic.
The Candidate must have qualifications a minimum of 2 years’ experience, excellent references, up to date First Aid & Garda Vetting.
