JOB DESCRIPTION
Busy family household of 5 looking for a Live In / Live Out Nanny for an exciting position based in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. Caring for 3 children aged 12, 8 and a 1-month-old baby. The older children attend school from 8am-2/3pm depending on the days of the week. Experience with this age group is essential. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm (50 hours a week), with a very high degree of flexibility to cover weekends and occasional overnights if the parents are travelling for work. Very busy household with staff, parents and children coming and going. Start date is ASAP.
The family currently has a Housekeeper, 3 days a week. Their last Nanny had been with the family for 11 years.
The Nanny will be responsible for School drop offs and collections and bringing the older children to afterschool activities. Driver is essential and family can provide a car.
Nursery duties for all children include preparing meals and following their daily routine. The Candidate will be expected to join baby classes during the mornings once or twice a week. Have a knowledge of introducing solids, enjoy the milestones of child development, help with weaning and continue with a well-established sleep routine for the baby.
It will be the Nanny’s responsibility to keep the common area e.g., kitchen / family room & the children’s bedrooms clean and tidy and organized. Nursery duties regarding all children will include laundry & ironing.
The Nanny will be expected to arrange various interesting development and educational activities, for example messy play, music and reading and outdoor activities.
Candidate must be happy to support the parents with the children if they are busy at the weekend.
Fluent English is essential to assist with homework. Occasional babysitting and overnights may be required.
Good cooking skills are important to provide nutritious meals for the family and batch cooking for the children.
The family home is part of a working farm, awareness of animals and machinery, Health and Safety is essential. The family has dogs, cats, and horses so the Candidate must be pet friendly.
Regular travel with the family will be required within Ireland (Killarney).
Lovely, separate apartment would be provided, with ensuite, kitchenette, sitting room.
The ideal Candidate must be organized, independent, reliable, fun & energetic. Must have a genuine interest and passion for working with children.
The Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, excellent references, up to date First Aid & Garda Vetting.
